Tan Rainfly for Stout Bell Tent

Sale price$179.00

Weather Protection for Bell Tents

Maximize your tent's lifespan and protect against intense UV rays and heavy downpours with a custom-engineered rainfly. Built to fit seamlessly over your bell tent setup:

  • Material & UV Resistance:  Made of 200-denier oxford nylon with waterproof polyurethane coating that is similar to an umbrella. Keeps your tent safe from light debris that can damage your canvas like tree sap, bird droppings, and fallen leaves. Note: While it offers a layer of protection, it is not designed to block heavy-duty UV exposure like our HDPE sunshade.
  • All-Weather Defense: Provides an extra layer of defense against torrential rain and snow accumulation, keeping your primary canvas bone-dry.
  • Custom Fit Design: Engineered specifically to contour perfectly over your bell tent’s center pole and A-frame entrance without interfering with guy lines or stove jacks.
  • Extended Awning Coverage: Extends past the main entrance to create a shaded, covered porch area for muddy boots and gear storage.
Good to know

What is the difference between the rain fly and the sunshade?

While both options protect your tent canvas from debris, they serve very different primary purposes:

  • Tent Fly: Designed primarily for personal style, color customization, and light debris protection. It can also be pitched independently as a lightweight, short-term canopy for beach trips or backyard barbecues (though they are not recommended for long-term setups).
  • HDPE Sunshade: Built for heavy-duty durability and intense UV protection, making it ideal for long-term or commercial glamping setups. Crafted from a high-density polyethylene breathable woven fabric, it blocks harsh solar rays, extends the lifespan of your tent canvas, and can drop interior tent temperatures by 10+ degrees.

Both accessories fit securely over bell tents or can be pitched independently using your tent poles.

Do I need both a rain fly and a sunshade?

No, you do not need to use both covers simultaneously. A sunshade provides everything a rain fly does plus heavy-duty UV defense and tent cooling, making it the ultimate all-in-one protective layer for long-term setups.

The rainfly was a wonderful addition to my new glamping tent.

At first, I was hesitant to use the rainfly because putting up the 6M tent solo can be challenging enough, and I didn't want to add the extra weight before lifting the center pole. But after glamping under trees, I quickly realized how essential it was to prevent leaves, sticks, insect and bird droppings, and sap from falling on my beautiful new tent. So I gave it a try and was pleasantly surprised by how easy it was still to erect the center pole with the rainfly on top! Because of its slick surface, most tree debris just slides right off, keeping the tent beautiful and clean. I haven't even used it for rain protection yet, but just this use alone is enough to prove its value. Another caveat I discovered is that during the night, the rainfly reduces the sound of twigs, branches, and leaves falling or rolling down the top of the tent while sleeping. For me, the rainfly was a wonderful addition to my new glamping tent. :)
